Ex-Military Aircraft  1945-1965 era

Most of the photographs in this section were taken before 1965.  In those days ex-military aircraft were used
either as "executive transports" (if they were twins), personal machines if they were singles, or racers if they
were ex hot-ships.  There was  seldom a desire to decorate them as "warbirds".   This fad didn't begin until
the mid to late 1970s.   Today, of course, you would be hard put to see a 1940-45 bird which isn't dressed that
way, including some which never did see military operations!   Although I may have several images of some
aircraft (in the case of C-46s and C-47s for instance), I will merely show one representative machine in this
collection.    In a few cases the only images I have are of them dressed as warbirds, albeit the shots were taken
fifty years ago.
