Grumman F8F-1D Bearcat  N3351               (c/n   D.18)

                                          

                                                 This F8F Bearcat was billed as a sort of "light-weight" Hellcat, but this shot, taken at Van Nuys
                                                  in 1963, still gives this formidable ex-US Navy fighter a rather brutish look!   Formerly BuAer
                                                 90454, this Bearcat was originally civilianized as N6624C.  It assumed the identity N3351 in 1959.
                                                 In the late 60s it became N9G, an identity it retains today in its residentcy at the Kalamazoo Aviation
                                                 History Museum.
