                                       After his barnstorming and air racing days were done the legendary Roscoe Turner founded the
                                       Roscoe Turner Aeronautical Corporation, a large fixed-base operator located in Indianapolis,
                                       Indiana.   In 1947 the CAB granted him authority to operate AM88.  This route was later flown
                                       by Nationwide Airlines although Turner reclaimed it and renamed his airline Lake Central Airlines
                                       in 1951.   N21711 was one of half a dozen DC-3s acquired from Northwest by Turner in 1949.
