VH-ASV  Lockheed 12A                    (c/n  1236)  
                           
                           

                                 The second bearer of the registration VH-ASV was also a Lockheed twin, but this time the
                                 so-called 'Electra Junior'.    This aircraft was the former VH-ABH although it held a couple
                                 of identities in between becoming VH-ASV (to wit VH-DMC and VH-TLX).  It is seen above
                                 at Essendon as a contender in the 1964 Ansett-sponsored Brisbane to Adelaide air race, in a
                                 shot by Richard Maclean.  The very nice color photo below was taken by Barney Deatrick at
                                 Moorabbin in February 1964, just before it received its rally number.    Jim Sweeney saw it
                                 at Bankstown later seven years on in 1971 (foot of page).      In 1978 it was restored back to
                                 VH-ABH and dressed up as "Silver City", its original Associated Airline name.         For full
