de
Havilland D.H.89 Dragon Rapide A3-1 (1935)
(c/n
6270)
Two Dragon Rapides were
originally delivered to the RAAF in 1935/36 for use on survey flights.
They were A3-1 and A3-2. A3-1 was not retained when the
project was finished and was sold
on
the civilian market as VH-UFF.
It was flown by Holymans/Australian National Airways and
Airlines of Australia Ltd until July 1940, when it was operated,
once again, by the RAAF. By
this time
the RAAF had used a new sequence of serials and the Rapide became
A33-3.
