VR-HDN  Douglas DC-3                                            (c/n  12019)

                                  

                                       Hong Kong Airways was formed in 1947 as a BOAC subsidiary as a means of that former
                                       carrier gaining entry into China.  For a thumb print history of HKA see the narrative under
                                       VR-HFI.   The above photo was gleaned from BOAC in 1949.     VR-HDN was a former
                                       C-47A-1-DK and civilianized after war as G-AGJY for BOAC.  The DC-3 was seconded
                                       to HKA in July 1947.  .  When the whole Chinese thing collapsed in 1949, -HDN was sold
                                       in Japan.   Its fate after that in unknown.
