ZK-CAW  Douglas DC-3C-G202A               (c/n  18923)

                              

                                   This was the former VH-ANM, sent to the Ansett New Zealand subsidiary in October of 1961.
                                   It is seen above at Essendon just before leaving Australia in this shot by Alan Fraser (via the Bob
                                   Smith collection).   It was leased to Fiji Airways in 1966 as VQ-FAI for three years before return-
                                   ing to New Zealand in 1969 and reverting to ZK-CAW.  It was then leased to Mt.Cook Airlines
                                   in Christchurch and later sold to charter company South Seas Airways in 1971. When their request
                                   to obtain an operating license fell through it went to Fieldair who converted it to a crop sprayer.
                                   ZK-CAW was finally withdrawn from service in 1984 and wound up as an annexe to a McDonald's
