VH-TOK Mooney
M.20E Super
21
(c/n 424)
This
Mooney was at Moorabbin in 1964. Photo from the Bob Neate
collection. It was first
registered in Australia to Kingsford Smith Flying Service of Bankstown
on 11 September 1964
(ex N6631R). In September 1968 it was re-registered to VH-REM when acquired by Robin
Elizabeth Miller* .
* Robin
Miller was an Australian aviatrix and nurse who died of cancer at the
age of 35. She was
given the nickname "Sugar Bird Lady" by the Aboriginal children of the
outback since she provided
polio vaccines to them in the form of sugar cubes. She used this
aircraft (as VH-REM) to provide
medical aid to remote
communities.
