VH-TLW  Piper PA-24-180 Comanche                              (c/n  24-615)

                                  

                                      VH-TLW was an early Comanche 180 flying for South Australian Air Taxis Ltd.  Geoff Goodall's
                                      shot (above) was taken at Adelaide Airport in May 1962.   The company used the VH-TL block
                                      in recognition of its founders from the Treloar family who had owned aircraft in SA and Broken Hill
                                      area dating back to the 1920s.    When taken over by Nicholas Air Charter of Moorabbin, the regis-
                                      trations were changed to the VH-RC series for NAC's entreprenueurial manager Richard Cavill, who
                                      began a steady expansion, taking over other charter operators.   VH-TLW was sold on 14 August
                                      1962 to Mrs.H. E. Edgar, of "Metro" Station, Springsure Qld and re-registered that  same day as
                                      VH-TEW, before going on to a variety of owners.
