VH-KAF (1)   Auster J/2 Arrow                   (c/n  2388)

                                       

                                     This was the Arrow which was to have gone to Belgium as OO-AXG but went instead to Kingsford
                                     Smith Aviation at Bankstown in 1951 as VH-KAF.   It was later sold to the the Aero Club of  South-
                                     ern Tasmania in 1954, and in 1957 it was sold "up north;' to the Tasmanian Aero Club who re-registered
                                     it VH-KAC.  These three (long distance) shots are from the Richard Rudd collection.  Above -KAF is
                                     seen departing Pedder Beach in the early 1950s, while the image at the foot of the page shows the line up
                                     Aero Club of So. Tasmania aircraft on the that beach on this occasion.    VH-KAF is at the end of the
                                     line, while the red Arrow is VH-KAM.      The in flight shot below with VH-KAM was taken from one
                                     of the club's Tiger Moths.
