VH-DAS   Douglas DC-3CS1C3G                        (c/n  6051)

                                  

                                      This DC-3 was formerly TAA's VH-AEO   It was reregistered VH-DAS in January 1958 and
                                      converted shortly afterwards into a survey aircraft.   It was leased to the Government of South
                                      Australia Lands Commission, although operated and maintained by TAA.  Barry Maclean's shot
                                      above was taken at Essendon in 1963 after the aircraft had been re-painted in full TAA livery. 
                                      It operated as a survey craft until 1975 when it was sold to East-West Airlines.   Acquired by
                                      Tramvar Holdings Pty Ltd in the late 1970s it finished its career as a movie prop.  It wound up as
                                      a crash-site diorama at Kuranda, Queensland in the 1980s.     A full and complete history of this
