VH-BIJ de Havilland D.H.82A Tiger
Moth
(c/n 1057)

This is actually the second Tiger to
bear the rego VH-BIJ. The first, ex VH-BCO became VH-SSU
for Superspread.
This one was formerly Gertrude McKenzie's VH-GMA which was disposed of
when the McKenzie
Flying School folded in 1960. The above
photo is by David Tanner, whilst the
hanger shot
below showing -BIJ in the same livery was taken by Geoff Goodall
at Mansfield, Victoria
in
March 1968. The air-to-air shot (# 3) is from the
Macarthur Job
collection. Greg Banfield took
photo # 4 at
an air show at Camden, NSW in October
1978. VH-BIJ is currently registered to Ross
Smith in
Queensland. Ross Stenhouse took a contemporary shot of it (Nov
2013) as seen at the foot
of the page.
