VH-BDE  (1)   Auster J/2 Arrow                    (c/n  2352)

                             

                                   VH-BDE was the former G-AIGW and first appeared on the register in 1948.  It was
                                   converted by Kingsford Smith Aviation Services to a J/4 Archer in 1957 and re-registered
                                   VH-KFB.  The above shot from the Ken Tilley collection shows it just after conversion,
                                   but before being re-registered into the KSAS series.  My own poor shot below shows it
                                   as a true Arrow at Bankstown in 1949.
