VH-AGU  (1)   Ryan STM                                          (c/n  454)

                         

                               The first -AGU was a nice STM.  It even has a Ryan Aeronautical Co. badge on the forward
                               fuselage.  This Ryan began life with the Netherlands East Indies Navy as S-18,  before escaping
                               to Australia in 1942 when it was impressed into RAAF service as A50-27.   The photo below,
                               from the John Oxley Library, State Library of Queensland collection shows it at Archerfield circa
                              1948.  Following a period when it was no longer on the register, it was restored as VH-WEB in
                              1957.   It is reputed to be in storage at Tyabb, Victoria as late as 2004. More on this bird can be
