VH-AGS  Lockheed L414-56 Hudson III                               (c/n  6041)

                                  

                                        The second VH-AGS was yet another Hudson for Adastra Aerial Surveys.  This had previously
                                        seen service with East-West Airlines as VH-EWA.   Originally dressed in a dull gray with white
                                        top finish, Adastra adopted several other color scheme over the years.   My shot above and the
                                        CAHS one below show it in this original drab livery at Bankstown in the mid 1950s. When Greg
                                        Banfield saw it at Mascot in February 1969 (bottom of the page) it was painted with a sort of
                                        orange-brown cheat line and vertical stabilizers and a blue lower fuselage and white top.   A full
