Some 96 of these lumbering
transports was built for the RAF. They did sterling work in all
theaters
of operation, but especially in the Middle East (Iraq, et
al). I suspect that K2344
was a Mk V, the most numerous
produced. This version was powered by two 570 hp
Napier Lion VIIB
engines. The Victoria was replaced, in the mid-1930s by the
somewhat
similar
Valentia (not exactly "state of the art" even for 1935). .
