Supermarine 535 Swift

                                 

                                     This heavily touched up and rather poor photograph probably depicts an early prototype Swift.
                                     The aircraft was never an outstanding success and had been ordered as kind of a back-up to the
                                     Hawker Hunter.   A series of accidents saw it grounded  in 1950.    It was eventually used in
                                     some quantities as a reconnaissance, rather than a fighter aircraft.   The last active flights by Swifts
                                     in the RAF were made in 1961.
