Stinson C-81E Reliant         NC17191                           (c/n  5706)

                               

                                     A poor shot, but of a fairly rare type.  Some 48 civilian Stinson SR9s and -10s were impressed
                                     into military service in 1942 as C-81s.   They ranged in sub variant from C-81A to C-81N depend-
                                     ing on their civilian marque. Four of them were SR-9Fs, one of which is seen above.  NC17191 is
                                     visible on the original print.   In the event, it appears as if two of the SR-9Fs were not taken up and
                                     I have a suspicion that this was one of them, and was to have become 42-38297  .
