Sikorsky XH-39                   49-2890

                            

                                     The XH-39 was basically an H-18 converted to turbo power.   Thie H-18 in turn was the
                                     military version of the limited production S-52.   Notable was the retractable undercarriage
                                     fitted to the conversion.  This aircraft is on static display at the United States Army Aviation
                                     Museum at Fort Rucker, Alabama.
