Lockheed
P-38J-10-LO Lightning 42-68008

Nice Lockheed image of an P-38J, the second
most numerous sub-variant of the Lightning (there
were more
P-38Ls than any other model, the only difference being an engine change
to Allison
V-1710-111s for the latter machine). 42-68008 was in a
batch sent to England in 1944 and
wound up
with the 434th Fighter Squadron of the 479th fighter Group based at
Waddisham in
June of that year. Fate unknown.
