HB-IBZ     Douglas DC-6B                    (c/n  44089)

                            

                                Although a poor reproduction, I am including this post card image since it illustrates a slightly
                                modified livery scheme from that shown by HB-IBO.   This scheme probably pre-dates the
                                latter one and carries "Swiss Air Lines" titling with the rego in black.  As with the DC-4s, many
                                of Swissair's DC-6B were transferred to subsidiary Balair.  This one, after its stint with Balair,
                                went to the Zaire Air Force in 1971 as 9T-TLB.  It was withdrawn from use at Kinshasa in
                               1984.
