G-AGNV  Avro 685 York C.I                              (c/n  1223)

Here's a nice Jennifer Gradidge study of a BOAC York towards the end of its career with the air-
line (it later flew with Skyways).  Taken at London Airport in the early 1950s, it has been white
topped in the mode of the day.   Note Blue Ensign and BOAC flags emanating from the cockpit.
The individual aircraft name of  G-AGNV  was "Marville".  BOAC's Yorks were used mainly
on the African service (which replaced the flying boats) from London to Cairo, Nairobi and Durban,
but also on West African routes to Lagos, etc.  This particular aircraft has been preserved in the
                                      Aerospace Museum at RAF Cosford.
