XT-802   Curtiss C-46                                          (c/n  22215)

                                 

                                    Noteworthy image only insofar as it gives a legible image of the inscription on the tail of early CAT
                                    aircraft, although I suspect this photograph has been colorized.  XT-802 was one of approximately
                                    thirty C-46s operated by Civil Air Transport.   Like most of the CAT machines which were flown
                                    out of Hong Kong in 1949, this one was briefly re-registered in the US as N8406C.  It was later
                                    re-registered back to CAT as B-846.  It went to India in 1963 as VT-DRH.
