Iranian Airways flew its first flight on 21 May
1946. It was a Persian owned corporation, although
TWA held 10% and lent
technical and management support. In 1961 Iranian merged
with Persian
Air Services to form
Iranian National Airlines Corporation. This DC-3, an ex
C-47A-30-DL
crashed after take-off from
Tehran Airport in September 1950 and was written off. All 8
passen-
gers and crew were
killed.
