4X-AGB Bristol
175 Britannia 313
(c/n 13233)
I often wondered why El Al didn't paint the
registration forward of the rear blue cheat line tail
flared
treatment, on the bare metal. On this image the rego is barely
discernible. 4X-AGB
was sold
to Air Spain in 1967 and wound up as a freighter with IAS Cargo
Airlines as EC-BFL.
The
Britannia turned out to be an excellent freighter and was, of course,
the basis for the design
of the highly
successful, and pure freight, Canadair CL-44.
