ZS-AEA  Junkers F.13                                             (c/n   J2005)

                               

                                    Major A.M. Miller founded Union Airways on 26 August 1929 to provide service between Cape
                                    Town and Port Elizabeth, with later expansion providing for a route from Durban to Johannesburg.
                                    The inital fleet of five D.H.60G Gipsy Moths was augmented, in 1931 by Junkers F.13s, W.34s and
                                    a single Fokker Universal.    ZS-AEA was one of five F.13s    This aircraft was impressed into the
                                    South African Air Force in 1940 as # 259.     I am sure it was scrapped soon after.
