F-BGOI de Havilland D.H.114 Heron 1B
(c/n 14008)

UAT maintained a seperate
division in the Cameroon to fly local routes. Three Herons were
purchased in
1953. The operation was short-lived and the rise of
nationalism put paid to
the operations of most colonial airlines in Africa
during the 1960s. F-BGOI was lost when
it flew into Kupe Mountain, near Douala in 1955.
