CF-HYX republic
RC-3 Seabee
(c/n 775)
This
nice shot (shouldn't really say that, since I took it myself in 1959)
is the same one that I use
in the 'Classics' selection
to illustrate a Seabee. What makes it so classic is that it
is still in standard
Republic livery,
as delivered from the plant at Farmingdale, Long Island in
1947. Since only 1060
(plus one prototype) were built, this one, as the 775th was a late
model. It had disappeared from
the Canadian
register by the mid 1960s and I suspect it was repatriated south of the
border.
