CF-DFU Noorduyn
Norseman IV
(c/n 31)
This was parked out at PWA's base at Sea Island Airport,
Vancouver in 1959. Originally
the
RCAF's 2458, it was declared war surplus in February 1946 and was sold
to M and C
Aviation
of Port Albert. They sold it on to Saskatewan Government
Airways. Queen Charlotte
Airlines purchased it in 1950 and it had a crash at Comox, B.C. in
February of 1952. Clearly
it must
have been repaired since Pacific Western acquired it in 1956 when they
bought out
QCA. Shortly after this shot was taken it was sold to BC
Airlines Ltd, also of Vancouver.
On 28 February
1962 a float fitting gave way whilst landing and the aircraft capsized.
Fortunately, there were no serious injuries.
