Barkley-Grow T8P-1
(c/n 6)
The Barkley-Grow T8P-1 was a kind of a cross
between a Lockheed 10A Electra and a
Beech 18,
although it had a fixed undercarriage. It employed a unique
patented "multi-spar"
all metal wing
which provideed exceptional bending and torsional strength. When
sales in
the U.S.
failed to take off, it was marketed north of the border, where most of
the only eleven
machines built
were registered. This one was built for Yukon
Southern Air Transport and
passed to
Canadian Pacific in 1943 when that former carrier was absorbed..
It was sold to
Associated
Airways of Edmonton in 1949.
