This shot, from the Len Dobbin
collection (via Australia's CAHS) shows a Canadian Airways
Fairchild being lifted either on
or off its skis at Edmonton in 1942. Further maintenance is being
performed on its Pratt & Whitney Wasp in the shot below.
Canadian-built, (hence the 71C)
it was delivered in 1938.
It passed to Canadian Pacific Airlines and was later owned
by the
Trans-American Mining Corporation. It
crashed taking off from a small lake in the North
West
Territories in September 1946.
