Flying Tiger
Line Douglas DC-3
NC59699
(c/n 13061)

Still fresh from their days
with the American Volunteer Group in China, whose P-40s were adorned
with shark's teeth, the founders
of Flying Tigers perpetuated this theme on their recently purchased
C-47s. This Bill Larkins photo was taken at San
Francisco in 1946. FTL operated approximately
a dozen or so before gradually acquiring
the more capacious
C-46s and later C-54s. NC59699
was an ex
C-47A-20-DK, USAAF
serial 42-93178
civlianized in 1946. When sold by Tigers
it
went
to India as VT-CTZ.
