Zimmerly
Air Lines Boeing 247D NC41814
(c/n 1735)
Zimmerly Air Lines began an
intrastate service in Idaho in 1944. Single engined aircraft
were used initially and in
1945 the airline acquired five Boeing 247Ds. The corporate
names
appears to have been "Air Lines" although clearly that is not the way
it was painted
above the cabin
windows! . In 1946 the airline name was changed to Empire Air
Lines.
Empire kept the 247Ds for a while although they were soon
replaced by DC-3s The
