Trans Texas
Airways Douglas DC-9-14 N1301T
(c/n 45695)
This aircraft was
actually the prototype DC-9 (ex N9DC). It was leased to Trans
Texas in the fall
of 1966 with the other
aircraft of an intial order of seven machines following throughout
1967. The
light blue cheat
lines, combined with this poorly contrasted shot makes the aircraft
look even drabber
than they were in the
flesh! 13 DC-9s were eventually to be
operated. In April of 1969, follow-
ing the award of routes into Mexico, the
airline changed its name to Texas International Airlines.
