Puerto Rico International Airlines de
Havilland D.H.114 Heron N13663 (c/n 14035)
This Heron was originally built for Jersey
Airlines as G-ANLN. It went to British West Indian
Airways in 1963 as 6Y-JCZ before being acquired in 1966 by what was to
become Prinair.
However, in
the early stages of the name change from Ponce Air, this airline
carried the full
registered
name titling on the fuselage, as can be seen in the above shot from the
Jose Alfonso
collection via William W. Sierra. Services were expanded,
domestically to Viequez, Mayaguez,
Culebra
and Aguadella and to Santo Domingo and the Virgin Islands
internationally. N13663
was not one of the Herons which were
converted by CADI and was broken up for spares.
