Pan American
Airways Sikorsky S-43 NC15064
(c/n 4304)

Although the DC-2 and
DC-3 were coming aboard by 1936, the cost to upgrade all the airports
in Central and South America to accomodate
these new types was prohibitive and hence Pan
American secured a number of Sikorsky S-43s,
the so called "Baby Clipper". This aircraft was
used to replace the Consolidated
Commodores which were still flying to the various islands of the
Caribbean.
