National Airlines Convair 340-47 N8412H
(c/n 108)
In 1953 National began updating its fleet
with newly acquired Convair 340s, (although it did
not
finally retire its aging Lodestars until 1959). The Convairs were
used on intermediate
stage
routes from New Orleans to Jacksonville and north into the
Carolinas. This NAL photograph
shows
N8412H taxiing for
take-off at Jacksonville in
1956. It was sold to Hawaiian Airlines
in 1959.
