Mohawk Airlines Convair 440  Metropolitan  N4401      (c/n  483)

                                       

                                              In 1959, to augment its Convair 240s, Mohawk acquired a small fleet of Convair Metropolitans
                                              which had originally been built for the Costa Rican carrier LACSA, but not taken up. This
                                              Metropolitan was named "Air Chief  Black Hawk" and flew with the airline for eleven years,
                                              being finally sold to Executive Airlines (and later repossessed by the bank) in 1971.   By the
                                              1990s it was hauling freight in Haiti and registered HH-OMA.
