Inter-Island
Airways Sikorsky S-43 N15061
(c/n 4301)

Early in 1936 the
airline augmented its fleet of Sikorsky S-38s with two brand new sleek
S-43
"miniature Clippers". In fact,
Inter-Island were the launch customer for this twin engined 'boat.
Pan Am
eventually ordered a whole fleet of them, but Inter-Island only ever
had the two, which
performed
sterling service up to and in the early days of, WW II.
