Golden West
Airlines DHC-6 Twin Otter 200 N63128
(c/n 128)
This was the first
livery adopted by Golden West after the amalgamation of the four
airlines which
went into its formation.
This particular machine came from Aero Commuter and is seen here at
Ontario Airport, Southern California, on
a hot summer's day in 1969. In the mid 1970s a revised
scheme was adopted as seen in the image below
by Ellis Chernoff in 1977 at the old Golden West
Terminal at LAX (where the Bradley
International Terminal now stands). Finally, below that is
another of Ellis' fine studies illustrating
the final livery adopted by Golden West prior to its demise
in 1983. This one was shot at San
Diego in 1981 (I was living in Kuala Lumpur at the time). .
