Delta Air Lines
Douglas DC-7B
N4883C
(c/n 45312)
Almost
indistinguishable from the DC-7 (especially from this angle), the DC-7B
was the domestic
version of the DC-7C Seven
Seas, although it didn't quite have the range of the latter. The
DC-7Bs,
of which Delta ordered
11, were used extensively on the interchange routes with TWA (to
Detroit)
and American (to Los
Angeles) in the late 1950s. N4883C was broken up in 1967 after
only ten
years' service.
(Probably was barely fully depreciated).
