Continental Air
Lines Lockheed 10E Electra NC14994
(c/n 1054)

On 1 July 1937 Varney Air Transport changed
its corporate name to Continental Air Lines. This rare
photograph,
obtained from Continental in the 1950s shows the only Lockheed 10
purchased by Varney .
This image was taken after the name change
and illustrates the early winged Indian Head logo. Presum-
ably Varney needed extra capacity and opted for a single Electra rather
than another model 12A.
