Colonial
Airlines Douglas DC-3 N21759
(c/n 2238)

With
the presidential campaign of 1952, the airliner more or less took over
precinct stomping
normally done by the railroads. N21759 is
seen here wearing a "Vets for Ike" slogan on the
starboard side, next to the door
of this (now white topped) 1940 ex Canadian Colonial DC-3.
As a
war hero of enormous [popularity, Eisenhower appealed to many ex-G.Is
as evidenced
by the "GICARAVAN" over the Colonial roundel. N21759 was
absorbed by Eastern in 1956.
