Chesapeake Airways Douglas DC-3  NC60713                                  (c/n 19122)

Chesapeake Airways, based in Salisbury, Maryland was founded in 1946 by Frederick P.
Adkins.   It offered scheduled intrastate flights on a Salisbury-Easton-Baltimore route.
The airline was very short lived and folded in 1947.  NC60713 may have been its only
aircraft (dubbed "The Shoreliner") although there may have been one other.  These two
shots came from post cards.   The city below the bottom one is Salisbury.
NC60713 was a former C-47A-70-DL, serial number 42-1000659.  Some sources
indicate it went to Cubana as CU-T-333 before returning to the US when it became
N94542.  In any event, it went to Canada in 1952 for Maritime Central as CF-GHQ.
                                      Fate unknown.
