Braniff International Airways  Lockheed L049 Constellation  N2520B   (c/n  2081)

                                       

                                          In 1955 Braniff acquired two Lockheed L-049 Constellations from LAV.  N2520B seen above in
                                          this shot from the Mike Sparkman collection was formerly YC-C-AME.  They were used mainly
                                          on local services from Dallas to Chicago.   Although the two Connies were nicknamed 'Fear'; and
                                          'Panic' by pilots and maintenance crews alike, they were held in high esteem and gave no problems
                                          for the four years they were operated.  Mike's shot above was taken after N2520B had been retired
                                          in the fall of 1959.
