Air Wisconsin were one of the lead
customers for this larger, basically four engined version of
the Twin
Otter. N791S, seen above in this photo by Bob Garrard at a
snowy/slushy O'Hare
in March
of 1981, was the first, and was delivered in January of
1980. Eventually the airline
would go on to use operate ten Dash-7s as the model was popularly
known, and as such, had
one of
the largest fleets of them. Only 100 civil models were
built.
