                                        Air Midwest was founded in 1965 by Gary Adamson as a charter company headquartered in
                                        Wichita, Kansas.   In May 1975 it became a Local Service Commuter Carrier flying Beech 99s
                                      .  By 1979 it had gained certification as a Regional Feeder Airline and a fleet of Metroliners was
                                        acquired.   Several destinations were served from Wichita including Kansas City, St. Louis, Des
                                        Mines and Denver.  N237AM is seen above departing Stapleton International Airport, Denver
