This was an Australian built Tiger which had served in the
RAAF as A17-310 and
was
civilianized in 1946 as VH-AUE. It was then purchased by an
owner in the UK
becoming G-AKYM before returning to the Southern Hemishpere in 1950 as
ZK-AXU
for Wanagnui Aero Work Ltd as a topdresser. It was written off in
a crash at Rangitumau
on 20 November
1955.
