Auster J/1B Aiglet

This
airframe was registered in 1947 as a J/1 Autocrat but not completed at
that time. It was
finished during 1950
as a J/1B Aiglet and sold to the New Plymouth Aero Club as ZK-AWT.
It is seen here in their
service early in 1951. After several private owners the
aircraft crashed
on the approach to the
Harris Saddle in the Humboldt Mountains, Fjordland Region in 1967
and was a total write
off.
