ZK-ATP  Auster J/1B Aiglet                                          (c/n  2650)

                                          

                                              This photograph was taken by James Dyson and comes courtesy of the David Molesworth
                                              collection. ZK-ATP was operated by Aircraft Engineering Ltd of Hastings when this image
                                              was taken, circa 1953.  This concern had modified the craft somewhat by building up the rear
                                              decking, making it look somewhat like an Autocar.  The rear fuselage looks very dented and
                                              warped in this shot.  Anyway, the aircraft undershot a landing at Greenstone on 6 July 1960
                                              and was damaged beyond economic repair.  It was stricken from the register in 1962.
